The Choo Choo House is the closest lodging location to the Bryson City train depot. Your stay will be enhanced by the convenient location of the Choo Choo House to all the area’s activities. The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad is only a two minute walk from your door. You can take the train on a half day tour to the Nantahala Gorge or spend a full day out on a Raft n' Rail combo trip that adds whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River without ever having to use your car! If you are planning a holiday visit, the Polar Express is just a short walk in your PJs from the Choo Choo House. For the rest of your stay, the downtown restaurants, fabulous shops and railroad museum of the quaint town of Bryson City are just as close.

When you want to venture out, just head up the adjacent “Road to Nowhere” about 2 miles and you will be in the wilderness of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. If you take a different turn, it will take you to the Deep Creek area for tubing and picnics. Also nearby are fishing areas on the Tuckasegee River or local trout ponds. For more outdoor activities, you are near the beauty of the Appalachian Trail and the native town of Cherokee, where you can visit the museums, native shops and the outdoor docudrama “Unto These Hills”.

This charming brick house was built in 1955 and just recently updated. Care was taken to retain some of the 50's flavor and add a railroad theme. You will find an updated but still classic full kitchen with stove, microwave and refrigerator with icemaker in addition to a comfortable dining room where you can enjoy your meals.

While relaxing in the living room, you can enjoy the wide screen HDTV and also have your own free internet access. The large living room also has a fireplace for the chilly evenings. Outside, you can grill your meals on the BBQ on the back porch and enjoy them at the backyard picnic table.

The Choo Choo House is both levels that include the Choo Choo Hyatt and the Choo Choo Caboose. They are connected by an interior stairway that can be closed to separate your group into two sections if you like or opened for full “run of the house”. Each level features 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. The bedrooms each sleep 2, in a queen bed in two bedrooms and the other bedrooms have 2 full beds each. For extra sleeping space, sleeper sofas in the living rooms can sleep two more.

Choo Choo House sleeps 10-14, is NOT pet friendly, and is available year round.
