The 2012 World Cup is ending on the Nantahala River September 9th, 2012, as a preview for freestyle paddlers to gain experience before next year's World Championship.

Thanks to advances in boat design and manufacturing potential, this extreme water sport rocketed in fame in the 2000s, though it has been gaining popularity since the 1980s.

The ICF World Cup is held on even numbered years, and the ICF World Championship takes place during odd numbered years.
