The view is spectacular, the amenities absolutely perfect. Our children truly enjoyed the great outdoors and look forward t retuning. We came for the Polar Express and found just hanging out here far more enjoyable. We will return and known in the future a fabulous, clean, homey place to stay and recommend. Thank you! - The Lang Family, Cochran, GA: This is just what we were looking for in an untraditional Thanksgiving. What a way to relax and unwind with the beautiful setting. The view is magnificent. We enjoyed watching the turkeys and deer. The cabin was cozy and met all of our needs. Thank you again for having such a wonderful place. - 9/30/11 - 10/4/11 – Chris and Dawn Buerke of Spotsylvania, VA: When my husband and I needed to get away from the stresses of life, we never imagined we would find such an amazing place. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. The cabin is beautiful and the view is spectacular! It is exactly what we needed and we plan to visit again next year if you will have us. The waterfalls (3) in Bryson City are beautiful but if you take the time to ride out to Cherokee, the Mingo Falls are spectacular. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is very scenic (lots of elk) but Clingman’s Dome is a must! Quite a hike but well worth it. Please watch the ice. It is very slippery. Jimmy Mac’s is a great casual place to eat. Great burgers and pasta. Anthony’s has very good lasagna and if you are up for the ride, Fat Buddies in Franklin is awesome! I recommend the ribs and pulled pork. - 9/2/11 - 9/5/11 William, Mary, Kyle, and Tracy: Had an amazing time. The cabin felt like home away from home. We are leaving here with some great stories to tell, for example how it looks like you are going to drive your car off a cliff when you are at the top of the driveway. Of course, the view is breath taking and the hot tub was really nice after mountain biking and horseback riding. Hope to come back soon. Kyle – the dog – loved the deck! - 8/29/11 - 9/2/11 – Dick and Sue Frushour of Aiken, SC: You have a very nice cabin with a wonderful view! We enjoyed the sunrises every morning and the peaceful setting high in the mountains. As others have said, the cabin is well-stocked with everything we needed. As for restaurants, we enjoyed the Bar-B-Que Wagon, Jimmy Mac’s, and the pizza at Anthony’s. We explored much of the Great Smokies Nat’l Park, Joyce Kilmer Forest, Cherohala Skyway (not as pretty as the Blue Ridge Pkwy), and the Foothills Pkwy. Saw bears near Cades Cove and lots of wild turkeys. Hopefully we can come back!! - 7/8/11 - 7/10/11 – The Miller Family of KY: The cabin is beautiful, enjoyed it very much. The view was breathtaking. It was just like we could reach up and touch the clouds. We have never been up this high before. We hope someday we can come back up here. The cabin is beautiful. I just can’t express how nice it was. We had lunch in Bryson City today at Jimmy Macs and the food was really good. We all liked it very much. - 7/1/11 - 7/8/11 -- Mary and Heather of Jacksonville, FL: Wow – what a view – words cannot describe! We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the ever-changing landscape. Had some nice rainy afternoons resulting in rainbows two nights in a row – did I say wow?! Enjoyed all the extra amenities here too – played badminton in the side yard and hiked the hills using your walking sticks. This week will not be forgotten! - 5/31/11 - 6/10/11 – Auree and Steveof KY: Your cabin is more than we could hope for! We’ve never seen such a view!! While Steve mountain biked at Tsali (just a few minutes to the trails) I got into my watercolors to try to capture a different scene each day – usually I like to find new views/locations but I could sit on this deck forever; watching the clouds lift out of the valley, trying to capture the light over the layer and layers of mountains….spectacular! Our son and his fiancé and friend joined us a couple of days. A perfect place for a family. We loved it! Everything was in perfect order and very clean. Esp. appreciated the well stocked kitchen with all the little things one needs to make a lovely meal, as we cooked exclusively - our home entertainment! Only suggestion would be to add a table to the beautiful deck for outside dining. Did a lovely day trip to see the crafts at Stecoah Valley and on to the virgin forest at Joyce Kilmore. And of course daily hikes all over. We’ll be back!!! (in September). Thank you!!! P.S. Pizza at NOC is excellent! - 5/27/11 - 5/30/11 – The Lupo Family : Wow! What an amazing cabin you have!! We had an incredible time! We did not want to leave. All the comforts of home and an awesome view. Loved the hot tub and after a day of hiking/rafting we could not wait to come back and get in the hot tub. We can’t wait to come back! P.S. Jimmy Mac’s in Bryson City had the BEST burgers! Also, BBQ Wagon had awesome BBQ - 5/10/11-5/15/11 – The Connellys: Hello! We had a fantastic time on our honeymoon, so thank you! We recommend sunrise as much as possible. It’s absolutely beautiful! The cabin was well stocked. It’s tough to beat the view and trust me, we tried! The back porch is the best view we’ve found. We recommend Adventurous Fast Rivers for rafting and if you feel comfortable, go on the single duckies for sure. You’ll have way more fun. Nantahala Canopy Tours was great too. Also the hikes that start at Deep Creek (Bryson City) were beautiful. 3 Waterfalls in the first mile! It’s great. Also, if you’re into beer, check out the Nantahala Brewing Co. right across the street from the train station in Bryson. They’ve got a great set up and a fantastic IPA. Thanks so much for opening your home. It was truly a relaxing getaway. - 5/1/11 - 5/4/11 – The Benayides Family of Mooresville, NC: We all enjoyed your beautiful cabin. It has a great view and deck. The house was organized and well stocked. The cabin is kid friendly too! It has cards, Wii, bunk beds and various board games. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. - 4/18/11 - Seton Smith of New York: Thank you for our stay in your beautiful cabin. The view is spectacular! - 11/2-11/6/10 – Michael and Teri Dotson of Canton, GA: Thank you for sharing part of your heaven with us! We brought our parents for a quiet few days and although the weather went from sun to snow we had a wonderful time! The view is one of the best I have ever seen! We will definitely look at coming back in the spring time! - 10/24/10 – The Nixes of Rock Hill, SC: What an awesome view! We loved watching the sunrise with the beautiful colors. Great location, and very quiet. Nicely furnished – especially loved the fireplace. Thank you for sharing your part of paradise with us. P.S. kid friendly, too! Chalkboard, games, TV, Wii, and great family walks – up hill. - 10/16/10- 10/18/10 – The Ellisons of Dandgridge, TN: We had a wonderful fall break with our children and friends in your cabin. Everything was clean and ell stocked. I would definitely recommend to other friends and family. |
