You are minutes to Bryson City, Cherokee, Maggie Valley, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park as well as 44 miles to Gatlinburg and one hour from Asheville.

What Makes It Special:

We’ve designed The Overlook for the luxury and comfort we’d want for ourselves. Every detail—from the unique lighting, to the high end modern furnishings, to the designer art, to the expansive yard — was created with your experience in mind. Exceptional mattresses will give you arguably the best sleep of your life. Our goal is to be the best vacation rental you’ve ever stayed in with many return visits.

My personal favorites:

• Nothing beats the sunset from anywhere on the property inside or out. From the hot tub, from the firepit, from the swivel chairs by the stone fireplace, from every window inside, it simply can not be beat and the colors literally linger for hours. 
• As the night sky darkens, I love to dim the kitchen pendant lights and wall sconces across the back wall of windows with all other lights turned off, and create the most peaceful setting and mood imaginable. 
• From the master bedrooms watch the sunrise spread over the mountain layers with a new set of colors in soft pinks and blues and wake up with the same peace you experienced the evening before.
• Preparing food and drinks in the dream kitchen with enough island space for a crowd, with dishware, barware, and glassware provided by someone who knows how to entertain.
• Late night hot tub using the built in blu tooth speakers and built in lights with color selector that make it fun and upbeat or romantic: your choice.
• Standing outside in the dark or by the firepit with a fire looking up and seeing more stars than I’ve ever seen before
• Once on the property, not seeing anyone else at any time for the entire time

️KITCHEN AND DINING:

The kitchen is completely stocked with all the tools and cookware needed to prepare meals for your family or group. An array of glassware is provided for wine and cocktails along with charcuterie boards and tapas trays and utensils.
As a coffee lover myself, freshly grinding your favorite beans for brewing, french press, or the ease of a keurig are all available and considered essentials. 

Enjoy casual dining on the gracious pull up kitchen bar under dimmable crystal pendants, outside on the covered deck, or an elegant meal on the marble table shipped directly from Italy under a stunning quartz chandelier.

OUTDOOR LIVING:

As the sun sets, enjoy the view from anywhere in the house or step outside to soak in the hot tub. Enjoy a whiskey and cigar in front of the stone fireplace, or roast marshmallows around the large fire pit and take in the starry skies. The setting is private and serene.

Unlike most mountain properties, at The Overlook you can enjoy a game of corn hole, horseshoes, or even practice yoga on the spacious flat grassy side yard which is rare to find in the mountains.
 

INTERNET & ENTERTAINMENT

We provide the best internet package available in the area, even though mountain internet can occasionally be unreliable. We have a closet full of cards, puzzles, board games, and outdoor games to incentivize relaxation and interaction with travel companions in ways we typically don’t take advantage of at home.  

All TVs are streaming compatible, though we hope you choose to watch the view instead. 

Guest access

Guests can self check-in. There is ample parking for up to 6 vehicles on the property, including one covered space. The road leading to the cabin is curvy as you'd expect in the mountains, but not too steep. It is completely paved, well-maintained and manageable. We regularly access it with a standard vehicle without any issues but all-wheel or 4-wheel drive is a plus. A surprise drive across 2 waterfalls on your way up the mountain begins your unique stay at The Overlook.
