Friends of the Smokies guided hikes in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park feature interpretation of the featured trail, history, and park projects supported by Friends of the Smokies. Annual Mountain Heritage Day

Date(s): Sep 29, 2018 When: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm The annual Mountain Heritage Day is a combination old-fashioned mountain fair and showcase for Southern Appalachian music, arts, dance and song. There will be 3 live entertainment stages, juried arts and crafts booths, children`s activities, heritage demonstrations, Cherokee stickball games, Shapenote Singing, chainsaw competition, baking contests, wagon rides, antique car show and more

Grooven on the Green

Memorial Day - Labor Day Every Saturday Night 6:30-8:30PM The music is always good, the program varied. Groovin` On The Green has become the Saturday night destination in Cashiers. The summer concert series for 2016 will be held every Saturday at 6:30 pm at the Village Commons. Groovin` on the Green events are free with donations encouraged.

Mountain Heritage Day

The 44th annual Mountain Heritage Day will be a combination old-fashioned mountain fair and showcase for Southern Appalachian music, arts, dance and song, with the atmosphere of a big family reunion. Visitors will find three stages of traditional old-time, gospel, and bluegrass music and dance, with plenty of fiddles, banjos, and clogging. Festival-goers are invited to join in workshops at the Circle Tent and participate in shape-note singing, one of the mountains’ sacred traditions. Admission and parking are free so bring your family and experience all that our rich heritage has to offer.

Leaf Festival

Held each year as the leaves begin to change in this beautiful mountain village nestled at 3,487 feet in elevation, this free event has grown tremendously since its inception in 2009. This year`s festival expects to welcome more than 100 artisans and merchants and over 10,000 visitors.

Treat Street

The Main Street Sylva Association is sponsoring Treat Street, when downtown businesses will hand out candy from 5 – 7 p.m. Main Street will be closed to vehicles beginning at 4:30, with a detour bypassing the closure Main using Keener, Jackson, Spring, East Jackson and Evalina Streets.

DILLSBORO LIGHTS & LUMINARIES First & Second Fridays & Saturdays in December December 7, 8, 14, 15 5 - 9 pm each night Journey back to the days of yesteryear.
