I spoke to Kathy when I booked the cabin, she was very friendly and helpful. We also received a call to check on us on our travel day to make sure we made it to the cabin, which was very thoughtful.
Our family of six stayed in the Mountain River Retreat. The cabin was clean, had an awesome hot tub, was stocked with just about everything you need for a relaxing time after all your days adventures! The children's games are a thoughtful touch and the cabin is centrally located but secluded at the same time. We loved it and had a great time. The hot tub was great! The cabin is in a secluded and quiet area. Bryson City is a lovely town with quaint shops that we shopped in the chocolate shop is to die for! We drove and walked the road to Nowhere, drove and explored the Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smoky Mountain Park. We came across Soco Falls near Cherokee which was beautiful and an adventurous decent to the falls, if you can hike it is a must see! We also drove to Asheville to the beautiful Biltmore Estate. The cabin is in a perfect location in that all the great attractions are only about an hours drive away but when your day is done you go to a nice quiet, secluded cabin.

I spoke with Kelly mostly and she was very helpful. She helped me sort everything out and find the place when I was too busy to notice the sign I passed. We will definitely be back again. We really enjoyed the relaxing nature of the property. When looking through other sites and cabins GSCR seemed "warmer" and a better option for us.

I always hate signing this book. It means I am leaving. It is nice in a way because it means I got to come. This trip was rather short, but soooo far from boring or uneventful. My mom dropped her not so life proof phone I Phone in the hot tub. My younger brother was convinced that he heard bears at night, my dad drove up and down the mountain in the beetle. My youngest and my brother went on mini- expedition's around the cabin. This cozy little hide out was exactly what all of us needed. I don't think that my mom could have a better birthday.

We've had a great time at this cabin! We rented a fishing boat and went out on Lake Fontana. That was nice. We also took a couple of the mountain biking trails. Mouse Branch was a real adventure!! We started at 7 pm so we barely made it back before dark. Our visit was short but it was a wonderful get away time! Would love to come back.

We loved the cabin! It was the perfect location! White Water Rafting was great and so was the mountain top, zip lining at NOC. We had an amazing hike up to the fire tower on the Appalachian Trail. The view was breath taking! We strongly recommend taking that hike. As for the cabin it was very clean and a great location and we can not wait to book our next vacation here. Thank you again for making this a great experience.

My husband planned 5 different places for us to stay in. This was number 4. The last one will be in GA. Native Winds is a beautiful mountain retreat. Then we came inside, WOW what a breath taking home! We have truly enjoyed every minute here and will treasure the memories. Native Winds is the perfect Mountain Dream Cabin. Everything you could want and so well left. I am sure this will not be our last visit. The Hutchins Family

This cabin was perfect for our 4 person family. It was just as advertised. All of the basic amenities you need. Beautiful mountain views, an hour away to skiing and snow tubing in the winter and minutes from whitewater rafting in the spring and fall. Cabin setting is quiet and private. Will definitely be back.

What a great time! The cabin was perfect and the view is amazing. We were here for a family reunion and had time to explore. We did white water rafting, horseback riding, and drove the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is so much to do and we can`t wait to come back. The Nantahala River is a blast even for beginners! Horseback riding across the street was great -- we took a 2 hour ride and it started pouring down rain and we were soaked. Blue Ridge Parkway was beautiful and easy drive. We had a wonderful time and hope to come back and stay in this cabin!

We had a great time in this cabin, and we had a great trip! We did lots of amazing things. Like, we went whitewater rafting for the first time, and we even saw some wild elk!! We saw 2 females at first then after we went hiking, we came back and saw another female. Then we saw one male elk! We also got to relax in the hot tub after. We made s`mores in the microwave and they tasted great. The rafting was really fun too. We definitely got splashed a lot! And the pictures after were hilarious! And the forest we hiked in was really pretty. It had little streams and waterfalls and lots of trees. We also saw some really cool butterflies too. And we`re also going horseback riding tomorrow on our way back home. I had an awesome time, and I`m really glad we got to stay in this cabin.

It was just the two of us and we had a great visit. The cabin fit us well and had eveything we needed. We drove out to Fontana Dam for prictures. Water on the reservoir is very low but still nice. Took a trip along the Nantahala and up to the lake. Very pretty. Looped around to Franlin and back. Cooked a couple of ribeyes on the grill and relaxed by the fire and in the hot tub. Very nice stay and plan to come back! Best thing for me was the military discount.
